27th September 2017 : The new season shirts have arrived at Cleator Moor Celtic Football Club (CMCFC), complete with the Britain’s Energy Coast (BEC) logo following the local firm’s sponsorship of the club in a 5-year deal.
BEC Director of Finance, Derek McHale, and Head of Estates, Bill Graham, took the opportunity to head down to the club to hand over their sponsorship cheque and catch up with the CMCFC team – picking up a shirt for the BEC’s Cleator Moor HQ boardroom at the same time.
The company will aid the club’s development through sponsorship, committee involvement and strategic guidance. Initial sponsorship will allow for the training of new coaches to support continued development of the club’s adult and youth sides.
At the time of the agreement Michael Pemberton, CEO of BEC explained the reasons: “One of the things we’ve been looking at is how we can use our knowledge to make a long term difference to a local organisation. We were so bowled over by the drive and commitment the local football club pour into the community that we were encouraged to get involved.”
Alongside a stand and shirt sponsorship commitment, the BEC leadership team will also use their expertise to provide support and guidance around fuel bills, energy usage, property matters and funding bids.
Also speaking at the time the agreement was signed, Cleator Moor Celtic Chairman, Martin Mahone, said: “We’ve been keen to secure a long term partner for some time and are delighted that BEC have come on board, not just with funding but valuable expertise. Like many local clubs we are at the heart of our community and with business partnerships like this we can achieve so much more.”
Funding will also be made available to allow decorative and refurbishment works to the club house, ensuring the club is made more attractive and valuable to every member of the Cleator Moor Community. BEC team members will also help with general volunteering at the club.
